By accessing or using DocuRift's document processing API and related services ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our Services.

2. Description of Services

DocuRift provides an AI-powered document processing API that extracts structured data from uploaded documents including invoices, bills of lading, receipts, and other document types. Our Services include API access, web dashboard, and related tools for document data extraction.

3. Account Registration

To use our Services, you must:

• Create an account with accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials and API keys
• Promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
• Be at least 18 years old or have parental consent
• Not share your account or API keys with unauthorized users

4. Credits and Billing

4.1 Credit System

Our Services operate on a credit-based system. Each document processed consumes credits based on the document type and page count. New accounts receive free credits upon signup.

4.2 Purchases

Credits can be purchased through our platform. All purchases are:

• Non-refundable except as required by law
• Subject to our current pricing
• Valid for the period specified at purchase

4.3 Free Tier

Free credits provided upon signup are for evaluation purposes. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free tier at any time.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use our Services to:

• Process illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized documents
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt our Services
• Use automated tools to scrape or abuse our API
• Share API keys or resell access without authorization
• Process documents containing malware or malicious content

6. API Usage

6.1 Rate Limits

API usage is subject to rate limits as specified in our documentation. Exceeding these limits may result in temporary restrictions on your account.

6.2 API Keys

You are responsible for safeguarding your API keys. Compromised keys should be immediately revoked and replaced. We are not liable for unauthorized use of your API keys.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Rights

DocuRift and its licensors own all intellectual property rights in the Services, including software, APIs, documentation, and branding.

7.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of documents you upload. By using our Services, you grant us a limited license to process your documents solely to provide the Services. We do not claim ownership of your documents or extracted data.

8. Data Processing

By using our Services:

• You confirm you have the right to upload and process the documents
• You understand documents are processed using AI technology
• You acknowledge extraction accuracy may vary by document quality
• You agree to our data handling practices as described in our Privacy Policy

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability. We are not liable for any downtime or service interruptions.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOCURIFT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DocuRift and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will cease immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of India.
